I can’t believe I’m entering a contest! Somehow, I came across this wonderful Facebook group Epic Fantasy Fanatics that I was intrigued with because as one of its rules, authors can’t use it as a platform to promote their book. It is meant to be a place where readers and writers can gather with no pressure and just share ideas and information.
Much to my surprise, they suddenly posted this fantasy book contest and after researching it carefully, it seems truly legit! There is a serious process for entering and advancing through several rounds and they have actual readers sign up to be the judges. I like that a lot. Here’s the link to the website for the contest. There are several prizes that all involve promotion of the book, starting with the nomination process. Each book gets its own page that people, like you, can go to and nominate or buy the book. BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY THE BOOK. It’s simply a link to Amazon.
First place has a 1,000 cash award, an Oscar-worthy trophy and a boatload of promotional opportunities. As I am in the process of figuring out a way to pay for the editing of book three, I dream of that cash!
Win or no, I will treasure every nomination. I hope to advance to round two where 16 semi-finalists will be chosen. Eight judges will read and score these books with the highest scoring book being the winner.
How can you help, you ask? You can do two things.
- Go to https://epicfantasyfanatics.com/search-for-2019effys-entries/ and nominate The Prophecy. You are allowed two votes, but they only count once. They want you to have the opportunity to vote for two books. I’m okay if you don’t (Wink emoji). It will take you to Instant Messenger to complete the voting process, but that is normal and how they track the nominations. They promise that your private information is not shared. Nor do you have to give up your first-born child.
- You can share the link on your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Oh, please do. The more facetime The Prophecy gets, the better it is for all of us in the kingdom.
That’s it! Easy-peasy. Nomination’s will be taken until July 15th and then the next round winners are selected. I will keep you posted on Facebook with my progress. I offer my undying gratitude in advance to those of you who use this opportunity to support my work and the kingdom of Uisneach.
